Pandell Launches its Leadership Speaker Series for Clients, Staff, & Friends

A Speaker Series that Celebrates 10-Years of Pandell “Covering Your Back-Office”

For the past decade, Pandell has committed to “Covering Your Back-office”, by offering an integrated suite of back-office software solutions for the oil and gas community. Today, we are the biggest one-stop-shop for financial, land and operations software in the energy industry. To say thanks to our clients, staff, family, and friends, for their support and loyalty over the years, we’ve launched an exclusive Leadership Speaker Series for them to participate in at no cost.

“We’ve introduced our Leadership Speaker Series to give our clients and employees an opportunity to learn from people who demonstrate leadership in a variety of ways,” says Greg Chudiak, Pandell’s President and CEO. “Besides being motivating and thought provoking, the sessions are intended to help all of us recognize and develop our own leadership skills.”

Ryan Walter – Former NHL Player, Coach, and Stanley Cup Winner

We kicked off the series with three energetic sessions presented by business and hockey icon, Ryan Walter. Calling on his experience as a former NHL player, coach, team president, broadcaster, and author, Ryan shared his passion for teamwork, performance, and leadership. His sessions highlighted the intrinsic motivators and extrinsic team principles that help teams increase their hungry spirit for success. We’d like to sincerely thank Ryan and his wife Jenn, for coming to Calgary and showing us a unique way to think about pursuing our goals.

More About Ryan Walter

Ryan Walter’s outstanding career in hockey included 17 seasons of playing and coaching, and over 1,100 games in the National Hockey League. Some of his biggest hockey achievements include:

• Being named Team Canada Captain in the World Junior Championships (1978)
• Being drafted second overall by the Washington Capitals (1978)
• Becoming the youngest NHL Captain (1979)
• Playing in the NHL All-Star game (1983)
• Playing 9 seasons with the Montreal Canadiens (1982-1991)
• Winning a Stanley Cup (1986)
• Playing his last 2 years for his home team, the Vancouver Canucks (1991-1992)
• Becoming a Vice-President of the NHL Players Association
• Being named the Budweiser NHL Man of the Year (1992)
• Coaching Canada’s Women’s Hockey Team to win the Four Nations Cup gold medal (2010)

Beyond his career in hockey, Ryan has achieved great success in business, including:

• Being named TEC Canada’s 2016 Speaker of the Year
• Obtaining a Master of Arts Degree in Leadership/Business
• Authoring 5 books
• Creating the board game Trade Deadline Hockey and electronic game Transfer Deadline
• Regularly contributing to both online and print magazines, newspapers, radio, and television
• Co-founding and leading two startup companies
• Coaching NHL and IIHF teams
• Broadcasting TV hockey
• Advising on and acting in hockey roles for television and movies
• Presiding as President of a professional hockey team
