Right of Way Magazine Tags Pandell LandWorks Software for Offering Successful Data Management

Jun 30 2020 | Corporate

June 23, 2020 ̶ The International Right of Way Association’s (IRWA) May/June issue of Right of Way Magazine featured an article titled Data Management – Choosing the Right Program for Your Company, in which the author says Pandell LandWorks software is a good bet for land data managers.

Dustin Weaver, President of Refined Land Services in San Antonio and author of the article describes how land management software like Pandell LandWorks offers a comprehensive alternative to non-specialized systems used to manage land rights. Historical land rights were previously outlined and stored in Excel spreadsheets, Share-point, SAP (payments) and Box/Google drive, writes Weaver. However, having personally experienced the value of working with purpose-built land management software, he suggests it falls to an energy company’s land professionals to influence their managers into understanding that interweaving the right technology into the assets tool kit is the best path forward.

To his point, Weaver suggests four factors influence the success of your data management system:

  • Accessibility – Does it provide real time data and integration with other systems?
  • Adaptability – Can it support customization and varying requirements over time?
  • Reliability – Will the company be there to provide ongoing support?
  • Affordability – Does the cost-benefit analysis make sense for you?

Weaver concludes that today more and more energy companies are adopting a new strategy of working efficiently through data management technology, and that evolving software platforms like Pandell’s will progress the world of infrastructure for years to come.
