Canadian Energy Industry’s LandRite Software is Getting Renamed LandWorks

Dec 8 2021 | Product News

December 8, 2021 (Calgary) – Today we announce Pandell’s signature cloud-based LandRite software (version 15+) is getting renamed LandWorks to align it with exciting developments in our land and GIS software product family. This new LandWorks will retain the exceptional functionality, accessibility, support, and cross-industry value it’s delivered over its 20+ years serving the Canadian energy industry.

“It’s a little bittersweet to see the LandRite product name retiring,” says Tim Steeves, Pandell Senior Industry Land Specialist, and co-architect of the original LandRite desktop application. “However, I’m thrilled that this solution, a staple in the Canadian energy industry for the past 20+ years, has evolved into a state-of-the-art, unified global land solution that will make it easier for energy operators in oil & gas, pipelines, utilities, and renewables to manage the work they do regardless of the country their project resides in.”

LandRite v15.x users will see the new name seamlessly changed in their cloud-based system in the next version release coming soon. Users of earlier desktop versions (LandRite v14.x) will continue to receive full product support with no disruption of service.

Is the LandWorks Name New?

No, the LandWorks name isn’t new; it’s been around for two decades. Pandell acquired LandWorks in 2018, and since then has been delivering separate land management systems to US and Canadian energy markets, necessitated by distinct differences in how each country subdivides and describes land parcels. LandRite has been Pandell’s cloud-based land software serving the Canadian market, and LandWorks was a traditional land application serving US and international companies.

Our cloud-based land management product today is the result of our US and Canadian product teams pouring tens-of-thousands of development hours into evolving LandRite into a comprehensive, global solution. Our vision was to take the best of the original LandWorks product and craft it into a single, multi-national land and GIS solution. That day has finally come, and now this double-duty digital dynamo is capable of supporting companies across all energy sectors in Canada, the United States, and abroad. It’s a transformation that has ultimately earned LandWorks top billing as the only land solution that does “the works”.

Who Uses it Now?

LandWorks is used by over 300 organizations in the global energy industry, including multi-national upstream, pipeline, utility, and renewable energy companies.

Why SaaS Matters for Energy and Land Management

For energy and land teams, SaaS is less about chasing new technology and more about enabling better ways of working. Cloud-based platforms support collaboration across teams, provide secure access to data from anywhere, and reduce the operational overhead of maintaining on-premises applications.

At Pandell, these principles guide how modern land and project tools are built and supported, helping organizations stay current as regulations, data volumes, and workflows continue to evolve.
